/>After a long winter break we are back at fishing for 2012. The first two trips of the year started off with a bang. On monday we started off on the “New Lump” and made one long drift and put 15 20/25 lb blackfin in the box along with a 130lb yellowfin and a 110lb yellowfin.
On tuesday I went back out to the same spot hitting one rig on the way first pass put a 70lb wahoo then a nice blackfin then a double on amberjacks on the troll. Made a few more passes around the rig and nothing. Off to the tuna grounds and within miniuts had the bonoits sharks and kings swarming the boat. We kept at it and by 1pm we had 2 75-80lb yellas and a 143lb tuna and 150lb tuna. Not a bad way to start of the first two trips of the winter tuna season. We still have a few dates open so dont wait to its to late. The big fish are hered and should hang around til the end of march.
